Designed by legendary Bill Dixon and built by Marine projects in Plymouth, England, the Moody 376 has a powerfull hull with a long fin keel and rudder on skeg that together with a fixed axle makes a solid blue water cruising design. Further improving the original design, Tempo has had added a solid bow platform supporting the anchor, as well as making a base for a gennaker or Code 0 sail. The stern features a bathing platform and to ease moving around the aft deck, the aft deck on Tempo has been slightly extended. A robust solar arch supports the solar panels and includes davits for hoisting a dinghy.
Adding to the safety, Tempo has been equipped with fixed railings all around the aft deck and the cockpit. The deep center cockpit provides ample room with safe high coamings and access to a large cockpit locker. Behind the dodger, a stainless steel frame supports the bimini and cockpit enclosure. Whilst the bimini and cockpit enclosure is still serviceable, the canvas is ready for replacement. The cockpit is equipped with an NMEA2000 enabled Garmin plotter, a Garmin multi instrument, NASA wind instrument, and Autohelm autopilot head unit.
In September 2024 the bottom was professionally sand blasted, primed, and anti fouled by Deltaville Boatyard, VA, USA.
In the saloon an L-shaped and a straight settee provide comfortable seating around a folding table with bottle storage. Lots of storage room is provided in cabinets, shelves and behind the settees, which both are equppied with lee cloths for passages.
A desk style chart table in starboard provides a chart compartment and is where you will find VHF, AIS, navigation tablet, radar, 12V distribution etc. Behind the charttable you will find the navigator’s berth” complete with lee cloth and additional storage in cabinets and under the berth. In the passageway to the aft cabin you will find the calorifier heated radiator and a large door to the the engine room giving full access for maintenance work.
Opposite from the chart table the fully equipped galley features a gimballed two burner stove with oven and an exhaust as well as a large refrigerator and plenty storage. A 230V outlet provides power for an induction stove running on either shore power or the powerful Victron inverter, feeding an additional four 230V outlets throughout the boat.
The forward cabin features a V-berth including an infill to convert to a double berth, with storage in open overhead compartments. Large storage compartments are found under ther berths, and the cabin has access to the chain locker and to the forward head. The forward head is currently converted into a storage room, but can easily be converted back, as the toilet and faucets are fully functional.
The large aft cabin is comfortably fitted wit a double berth to port and a small settee to starboard, a hanging locker, and plenty of stowage behind and under the settee, in the cabinet and on shelves. From the aft cabin there is direct access to the aft head, which is equipped with holding tank.
